Recently I was asked what makes a winner? Not just as a dancer but also in life. My answer is quite simple. Be different, Be Yourself. Develope yourself ! And don’t compare yourself to other people.
I’m only interested in comparing myself with myself and hoping the I can improve both as a dancer, an entertainer and as a human being.
I can’t comprehend the concept of constantly focusing your energy on trying to be the same as someone else. You won’t win if your a copy! It’s not about being the fastest, the strongest or jumping the highest. It’s about being the best that you can be. Developing yourself and your understanding of the world around you and then combining it with technique, emotions and perfomance. All these things coming together to make you unique, individual and different. That is what I focus on. To copy, to compare, to take after or imitate, limits your ability to develope.
So to those that are constantly copying someone elses moves, style, choreography, emulating their identity and focusing on winning rather than dancing, STOP IT, FORGET IT, focus on yourself. Develope your own identity and dare to be an original. It’s complicated and it’s frightening but the rewards will be worth it in the end..Postad: 6 maj, 2013 Av: Tony Irving & Alexander Kategori: Allmänt, Dans, Livet | Etiketter: dans, livet, tankar | Kommentera (1)
